How can I get traffic to my website?
I am just starting out in Internet Marketing and created my own website. But I can’t seem to get any traffic to it, or no one is signing up for the free social networking site I am promoting. It doesn’t make any sense. Even my own family and friends won’t sign up. What am I doing wrong?
It took Facebook and other big social networking sites years to obtain the popularity it enjoys now. Not only that, as there was so many social networking sites, only few we have heard of due to their superiority. However, if you are trying to to get traffic to your website through search engines, you need to optimize your website to obtain higher ranking in search engines, here are some good ideas to help you do so:
1st try to get more back links to your website and the easiest way to do thats is by submitting your website to free web directories such as:

Backlinks provide higher ranking in search engine, but most importantly, links drive direct traffic to your website when visitors clicks on your links.
2nd Try promoting your website on social networking and internet communities such as

This is where web surfers are spending a big deal of their time, so have your share of visitors.
3rd and most importantly, provide quality content, this is an indirect way to get back links by genuinely driving people to link to your website.
4th make sure that your meta tags ( web page titles and description) match the content of your pages, this is a huge part of search engine optimization and drives traffic from search engine to your website
They are pretty much the most important things when trying to get your website to show up on google. The more high pr back-links you have the higher you will rank in google. Make sure you have high pr backlinks(the best backlinks to have). They are two ways you can get backlinks, one is to generate backlinks yourself, you will need to have a little knowledge about backlinks to do this or you have to do alot of research to figure it out.
I went to http://www.shop.buycheap-wholesale.com , they are a backlink building service and they are the best online that I have found. They do all the work for you, I bought 100 high pr backlinks, these backlinks all had a (pr of 6,7,8, or 9) Which is awsome. I paid I think $80, but they have other packages of backlinks. Still compared to $450 that one website charged I think $80 was a steal. After about a week my website was on the first page on google.

Conversion rates are not as high as you might first imagine, make your site a place worth visiting with regular updates and you might develop decent search engine traffic. I would suggest the following:

Have you sent emails to your friends and family inviting them to sign up? Email marketing is very powerful, and in this case, you can send one general email blast to everyone in your friends and family list or you can spend the time sending individual emails special for each person which makes it more personal. Or you can use a combination of both. Just make sure it’s not going to be looked at as spam. ( I doubt it will since they are your friends and family, but just to be on the safe side, you might want to take your time personalizing each email.)
