I was in my 40's, owned my own home, had a car loan paid off, paid my bills on time, and had good credit and still was denied. They will deny you over anything and everything. Second of all, many merchants do not accept American Express for various reasons. Third, having credit cards may seem like a good idea at first... especially if you're in a pinch. However, the long-term cost can be overwhelming, if not devastating. Try to pay cash whenever you can. Try not to live above your means. It will save you in the long run. Debt is simply not worth it! Trust me! Also, these rates seem rather high to me. They make it sound good but that seems to be a "gotcha" trick. Don't fall for it! Pay cash and be done with it.
