You just need to get your website link out there on as many websites as possible. Optimized pages are simple web pages filled with content that are optimized for a specific search term so that when someone searches for it in the search engines, they will be more likely to see it in the results.

Say you are optimizing for the search term "dog training"

In the title of your web page you would put something like "Dog Training Information - Get Free Dog Training Advice Here"

In the content of the web page you would write some paragraphs and include the term dog training and other related search terms.

After that you would get links to your web page using a variety of methods including article marketing, blogging, social networking and forums to and put a link back to your page with the word "dog training" in your link text.

Now you have an optimized web page that the search engines will come by and crawl and put in the results as they see fit. You can’t just put up a website and instantly be seen in the search engines. You have to prove that you have relevant content that people are searching for in order for the search engines to find it.

The basic idea is that the more links that are pointing back to your website, the better it will rank in the search engines for your related keywords.

Be careful when you "buy website traffic". A lot of it is junk traffic and has no value what so ever. If you want you can pay someone to write articles for you and submit them which will get your pages "optimized"

Ok,,,,, You should start working on SEO (search engine optimization) which includes choosing proper keywords,title, descriptions meta tags, unique content etc.
Most traffic comes from search engine so you should work on SERPs(search engine results position/ranking page) so that your website is displayed in top results for a particular keyword.
If you are writing on something you should use title with respective to visitors perspective (As a keyword a user will type in search engine to find something). Then next thing is to use that keyword as many times in the written content. this will make your site achieve higher position in search engines.

There are tons of things to do to get traffic but the biggest two things is just write content and optimizing your pages for search engines and getting backlinks to your site.

Simple..Google has free tools such as site submission and webmaster tools which are all free and gets your site indexed in the search engines..They also have Google Ad words which costs money!!

How old is the site? What is the purpose of it? Why are you trying to get traffic… personal, sell ad space, etc.

If it’s a business site, then you could look at hiring an Internet marketing company. They could help you if you have money to spend on it. But be careful… there are plenty that are crappy. Any company that wants to charge you $20/month and tells you they will get you to the top of page 1 is a scam. For genuine rankings/exposure - depending on the type of site, you could spend anywhere from $500 - $10,000/month for a reputable company. But - as with anything… you get what you pay for.

I used a company called eVisibility for some optimization. They were about $2000/mo but I hade good results.

there are a few ways to generate traffic to your website.

1. Get as many links TO your site as possible….put your site in forum sigs, in emails, have friends w/ websites link to it…

2. SEO - good title tags, meta description and keywords are good too…

3. well written text on the homepage that relates directly to the content you have on your website.
