I am looking to do some work on my property, re-rendering, a kitchen extension and a loft conversion, but as it’s a lot of money to spend, I obviously want to make sure to find someone who isn’t going to do a shoddy job. Is there a website to look where people have recommended construction companies, or any other tips? Or can you even recommend a company - I live in Torbay in Devon.
Thanks
I don’t know of anyone who has had any work done nearby, so suggesting word of mouth is really not of much use to me… I was rather looking for some other channel.
unfortunately the only reliable way is the word of mouth. I know you say its not not option but it is, it just needs leg work. Get a few architects in to see if they want the drawing job……ask them do they know any good local builders, ask in the pub, ask in the builders merchants ( not B&Q ! ), walk around and see what new extensions are up - go and knock on the door….I find people don’t mind and I am more than happy to give recommendations for all the work we do.
We were all new to an area at some stage, it just requires a bit of legwork to find the reliable builders.
a website, database or agency all have the agenda of making commission out of you. yellow pages ? I would say not. All the builders, groundworks, sparkies, plasterers and plumbers I use are not in Yellow pages. Why would they be ? The best ones are far too busy to need adverts.
Finally, never go with someone who is available. You’ll have to wait for a decent builder.

I am potentially trying to make a business out of Internet marketing and I am looking for all the help I can get. Right now, I am in pre-business mode and doing all the research I can so I need any suggestions for places to look for Internet marketing tips from people who actually know what they are talking about and are easy to learn from.
I am going to recommend that you check out Matt Bacak. You can Google his name or check out his blog at www.mattbacak.com. The guy is an Internet marketing expert but he keeps it real and explains things that people can understand.
He’s been doing this for several years and knows what he is talking about. I am actually a member of his IM Gold membership and I learn so much every day from it. I have followed a couple other so-called IM "gurus" and they provide you with fluff and don’t give you the facts like Matt does. I wish you the best on your new business adventure!

I’ve started an online anime Magazine and was wondering if there was a way to increase traffic, its not quite finished yet…Also any feedback would be apreciated but remember..its not finished..
This is it http:// www.animelovers.50megs.com
If you want to send fanart in please handwrite your name on the image and email it to this address with some details about yourself. i.e; Name, Age and Location
animelovers@hotmail.co.uk
Postal Submissions will be acepted the address is on the website
Just visited your site http://www.animelovers.50megs.com and I think it has potential also I checked your coding and noticed a few thing especially in your keywords, you have some keywords that are related to your site but some of your keywords are to vague (like DVD , reviews) you can use keywords that are more specific to your site (go to a search engine and do a search on DVD or review etc. and you will notice that there are millions of competitors for those keywords..As most site depend on search engine traffic, you will get more traffic and less competition, if you use more specific keywords…Also some tricks to promote your site are join forums, groups that are related to anime and leave comments or question with your URL (web address) as part of your signature, do the same thing for emails etc..Just don’t spam your site..For more detailed info, visit the link that I will provide

Photography is my hobby , I use to take pic wherever I go and then I post to flickr. I receive many comments on my pics. I am thinking to make money with my pics. Please tell me how can I make money online with photography? Is their any magazine which is in search of online photographers?
Making $$ as a photographer is very hard. I spent a career in television photography. I’m now semi-retired doing some still jobs on the side… but these are client specific shoots.
I had a site for some time for Jim’s Digital Photo Shop. I got quite a few hits. I had photos for sale but absolutely no takers.
I don’t mean to sound cynical but I’ve found over 35-years of doing this work that unless you have a specific client, a company you work for,
or your name happens to be Ansel Adams, you’re looking at a very long, difficult road.
Tell you what. I’m no photo critic but I’d love to see your stuff. Send me your Flickr page through my profile - I’d like to see your work.

What are some good marketing tips/ideas for a company just starting out with a low budget? I have an e-commerce fashion site targeting women between the ages of 17-35. I’ve already submitted my site to major search engines and linked my site to many top 100 sites as well as advertised on them. Anything other ideas?
Clothing styles similar to bebe, Betsey Johnson and Express.
There is an interview with an up-and-coming knitwear fashion designer and you can learn from the strategies that she uses to market her fashion business.
She uses the power of both traditional marketing strategies and the Web to reach her market:
1. She has recently started to send out a Press Kit and Sales Books to editors and stores all over the United States.
2. On the Web, she contacted a variety of online boutiques, providing them with a select amount of pictures and description of her company. As a result of marketing campaign, her collection is presently available in her website and is featured in a number of boutiques and online stores
3. She focuses on getting samples of her designs in fashion and trade magazines
4. She has also started a monthly email newsletter to friends, family, editors and buyers from all over the country to let them know what is new with the company and give them a teaser of what will be coming in the season ahead.
You can also send out press releases on a regular basis. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

Is their a number/range of traffic a website needs to get to be paid a sum of money? (ex. 5,000 people visiting daily would equal how much money?)
Sites are usally paid on a sliding scale for the numer of Hits. The compensation is open to negotiation.
