I don't agree with u.
advertising is making the world believe what u think is required to be known to masses for their benefit and for the benefit of the client. 
Once u work on above theme, all advertising will become truthfully genuine and attractive.
now coming to ur question cause u may have to answer that way &#62;&#62;&#62;&#62;
Advertising has three components.
(a) Message
(b) visual
(c) brand
so the 1st reason is it is not the message or the visual u would like people to remember, it is the brand u want them to remember there for visual and message should attractively depict the brand.
2nd reason is,, Brand provides the theme and justice to the advertisement. It is the brand for which u have been assigned the task to advertise. so keep brand central to the theme.
