Why can’t I find the Yahoo! Mail app in the Android market?

I can’t locate the authentic Yahoo! Mail app for android…I don’t want to have to use the browser on my cell to check my small business email. Help?

It should be there… if its not then you can use the other mail application that comes with the phone.

should I create it in an Excel file or go to my email account and make a large distribution list? Is there and advantage to doing one or the other? Would an Excel file be a better choice if I decide in the future to have an email marketing company use my list to send out an advertisement?

I would strongly recommend using a software called SendBlaster. You can load all your list in that software and mass-message them easily in the future. The software provides detailed stats and reports and lets you choose any email provider’s SMTP servers (even GMAIL) to send your messages.

I am looking to earn an additional income alongside my day job, with tasks to be completed in the evening.
I have thought about offering my services of designing and sending emails for small companies in the local area to help promote and advertise their products and services. This would include looking at the analysis and advising the customer.
Primarily I would take orders through a website, but may promote the idea with cold calling around local businesses
I am a qualified marketing person which adds credence and I have a few years experience of managing these type of campaigns, so I feel it is a natural extension of what I am already doing
Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience of doing anything similar or any thoughts on this idea?

I’m in marketing as well, I’m a sales person. My thoughts would be try to line up some potential clients first and see how that goes. Even if you get one client first and make next o nothing from him it might be worth it to see how you could evolve from that.

I don’t know if you do sales at all in your job but I can grantee you that it will be harder then you think to get clients to come on board unless you have a good connection with them already.

Email Marketing Business Idea?

Email Marketing has increased users by 50% between the years 2004 and 2006!

It is now 2007 and obviously it isnt hard to realise there are more and more Autoresponders being created for this type of market, especially targeting small businesses mainly in the US and the UK.

I would love to create an autoresponder, as I have been a custom to one for atleast 14 months now.

I know what the demand is, I know what an autoresponder should have and can do without.

However, if I was to create an Email Marketing website, would finding my website to all of the other existing email marketing websites be like finding a needle in a haystack?

It certainly is a good business idea, but do you believe it is too late for this type of busines to be created now that there are already so many others out there?

Will it be like a smart choice bar of chocolate compared to cadburys?

What do I need to run an email marketing business with my own code?

I love sending newsletters and email campaigns to double-opt-in subscribers on my website. I use a code that works on my hosting service (however I dont have access to the bounced reports and other important features). Now I will like to offer my program as a service to small businesses which might be interested on email marketing.

Where can I hire a mail server that allows me to send bulk mail and keep the earnings.

*This business model is used in a greater scale by other websites (icontact.com or aweber.com for instance).

Do you have any suggestion?

You’ll need to write the code you need. As far as a mail server, run your own. An SMTP server is trivial. The problem is finding a provider so depraved that they’ll let you do mass spamming. (The internet would be about 3 times as fast as it is if all mass spamming were eliminated - it’s the majority of internet traffic.)

List of Webhosting companies to allow email marketing through there server?

I need to buy server at competitive price so that we can run email marketing script through our domain. I just know many of webhosting companies dont allow such activities. I need the names of companies who allow such services.

Thanks, but webhosting companies provide SMTP, POP etc. which we can use to send emails from our domain. But in our knowledge, there are some limitations in email sending through hosting server when we are sending to many emails. I know that we can setup an email server in local PC to run the email marketing. But it would be better if email sender script is hosted under a webhosting company. Since we can access that from anywhere. Plus, Lynux hosting has CRON which we can use to ensure the delivery. Currently, we don’t have any situation to setup different things or create our server or hire more people to maintain that.

You are mixing up two things here: web hosting and an e-mail server. A web hoster does not have an e-mail server for its clients normally, you are confusing a hosting provider with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). You can set up an e-mail server yourself using Postfix for example.
