Earlier today, I answered a question by a user with the screen name "LIBERALS EAT BO SHlT , it was an ignorant question, but I just had to give a good answer. I received this email shorty after, and when I clicked on the question YA page said "You can not access this page", and the User allows no reply or IM’s, Here’s the text of his obnoxious email :
Hello thehermanator2003 (thehermanator2003),

From: LIBERALS EAT BO SHlT

Subject: Hey there

Message: I never thought there could be a Patriotic Liberal, WTF. You must be a real war hero, which I don’t believe because liberals are cowards. LMFAO, moron.

Please find and bar this idiot from YA forever, Thanks You, Herman
Thanks Brian, (And Everyone !), I took your advice as regards the email address. You would think that I would know such things, as long as I’ve been participating here. I should have reported the question itself, but I get so tired of people saying that Liberals aren’t , or can’t be, Patriots, that I had to respond to the idiot’s blathering.
One of my better blogs has a byline that says, "The Blog of choice for All Patriotic Liberals", and I know there are a lot of them out there, it’s just that most of my Vietnam Vet. buddies are still drinking the right-wing Kool Aid, probably because the right-wing were the only one’s who treated us like humans when we came home?
Thanks again Everyone !

Here’s how you do this:

1. Forward the message to the Answers Team at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com (note the "e" has been left out) with the subject "Insulting email from another user." Be sure to give them the details on what was written.

2. Go to their profile and click Block. This action will prevent the abuser from sending you any more messages and "troll" through your posted content.

Warning: You must never respond back to the abuser at all costs and harass them. This can result in the suspension of your Answers account. Just report the matter to the Answers Team and allow them-along with Customer Care-to take care of the problem for you.

By doing as I instructed, this will get the other user’s account permanently suspended in no time flat.

If you had the contact details (ie. name, email and postal address) for a large number of people, and wanted them to opt-in to being on your own list, (so that you could maket them financial products and services), what would you do?

eg.
- send them a postcard with an advertisement & website address on it so they can go there and register their interest?

- offer them a free e-book related to their interests (eg. in return for their email address)?

- just post them a direct offer for a high-end product? (perhaps effective for up-front sales, but then they won’t be able to register their email address to opt-in to further email-based offers).

No ideas of unsolicited emails thanks, as this 1). is illegal 2). won’t reach many of the people, and 3). is more annoying and trouble than simple traditional direct mail.

While I do already have the email addresses, I’m looking for a way for them to provide it again to me, so they have formally ‘opted-in’. Thanks.

It sounds like you have bought a mailing list which you cannot import directly into an auto responder service such as Aweber. So, you will require a double opt-in to comply with UK and US laws.

To get them to opt-into your list you will have to give them something they perceive to be of high enough value to entice them to give your their name and e-mail address.

You are trying to start a relationship with the people on your mailing list. Offering a mini-course or a newsletter could do the trick, but the quality and perceived value must be high. You must be seen as giving more value than you are asking for.

In my experience, it takes a minimum of 5 to 7 contacts before a prospect will buy from you. So, offering just a free e-book is not enough. That does not mean you cannot give one away as an unannounced bonus with your mini-course or newsletter.

A blatant sales pitch will result in them deleting your e-mail super quick.

i have a lot of email addresses some are friends, some are people who have emailed over the years and others were forwarded in personal emails. I want to use these addresses in a marketing campaign. How do I email , without being accused of spamming, how do I get them to opt in. Most email companies say that I am spamming before the email is sent.

Add to above:

Unless your business name is plainly obvious "DogFoodByPost.com", then you must add a brief description of your products/services.

Best email marketing?

Author: admin

What is the difference between email marketing software and service???

I need to send email blasts to a database of around 15,000 previous customers/guests. But i want more than just to be able to send an email i want it to perhaps have good design templates/wizards, mail open reports and stuff like that.

I have never done this before, it has always been an IT guy who has written some program for me, all i had to do was draft the email and provide the database. But now I am running my own company and don’t have an IT department I need to do it myself now.

Any help and advice would be great… By the way I have been told about YMLP… are they any good? I see they offer a lot for only 3.75USD per month… but if someone can tell me of a better alternative then i will go with that…

Many thanks in advance
rob

hey rob,
i’m not that much clear with you. but doing a little guess work, i think you are talking about auto responders (software’s that send emails out to a list of poeple automatically — mostly web based.). and if i am correct so far, i will recommend you to use ‘aweber’ (aweber.com). it’s a great web based autoreponder service but you need to ‘double opt-in’ your customers. i.e. they have to confirm the subscription. and you may lose some of them during this process.

moreover if you want some chit-chat with me you can get me at mic_kym4@yahoo.com. and that’s coz i enjoy meeting like-minded people to share ideas with.

ur welcome
mick

It would not be wise for me to set-up an account with aweber or something like that starting out but am willing to upgrade in the not so distant future. I just need a platform to get started with email marketing campaigns and opt-in forms.

Thanks

I will send you the contact information for my rep at EmailDirect.com. He allowed me to build my database and get everything established without charging me. I have now been working with them for 2 years.

Anyway, look in your email for my rep’s contact information. Tell him that "The Other Clay" sent you and he should hook you up with the same deal.

*** you have email turned off, so email me on my profile page and I will reply with his contact info

What would you say is the most effective email marketing software for promoting CPA ads and social network profiles?

Definitely, the Mail Mascot. It even comes with a twitter scraper for harvesting emails and a seperate video course regarding social networks.

The best and simplest by far.
