Affiliate Marketing Programs: Separating Good from Bad

Anyone who has done any research on online marketing knows plenty of rip-offs abound. Unfortunately, Internet marketers with no scruples take advantage of the abundance of people who come online every day looking for ways to improve their lives. It’s very sad, because millions probably get duped into spending money unnecessarily, only to get involved with scams or at least bad business ideas that line marketers’ pockets and leave buyers with nothing. Fortunately, there are ways you can make money online without any up-front fees. This should be good news to those who have had run-ins with Web scheme run by scam artists!

But the line between scam and just an ill-advised business opportunity can sometimes be thin. An example of this is the controversy over an web business opportunity named Site Build It. Some people think that at least one person has created a SBI affiliate review that wasn’t entirely accurate. The owner stepped forward to defend himself and he could be totally right. But it’s up to every individual to do their own research before paying money for Internet “opportunities”.

One of the main ways I like to make money on the Internet is above-board and also fairly simple to implement. I make money writing. HubPages — a community blogging site — makes it simple to create content and generate ad revenue. How many content “hubs” (pages) you create is up to you. Each hub has the potential to make up to five forms of revenue: Google AdSense, Kontera in-text ads, Amazon products, eBay auction items and any affiliate marketing program you want to implement. Sixty percent of the impressions (page views) that generate income go to you and the people who own HubPages get 40%. Affiliate programs are an exception to that rule though; One hundred percent of income generated by click-throughs from an affiliate link on a hub would belong to you. It takes a while to get good at creating solid hubs but in my opinion, the money you can earn over time makes it worth the effort.

One of the affiliate marketing programs I like to use on my hubs is RevResponse, because it provides credible free information for people. When people click on links to any of the RevResponse publications or white papers and qualify, you benefit financially. That’s all there is to it. Qualifying is not a shoe-in though, so that aspect is important to understand. To learn more, you might want to check out this RevResponse marketing review. The information in the review will help you know whether the RevResponse program is right for your site or blog.
