Internet Ads, why and how are they used to great effect?

A common feature on the World Wide Web is advertisements and, in particular, banner ads. Everyone has seen them  they are rectangle in shape and come in different styles, designs, layouts etc but all serve one universal purpose, namely to promote a product or service.

For publishers at least this form of advertisement is hoped to serve two purposes. Firstly it is anticipated that the internet user will see the banner ad, like either the ad itself or the product and/or service it is promoting and click on it to visit the publishers website. This means that the publisher has gained 1 visitor it would not have had if that banner had not existed. It is even better if the visitor buys something from that site then the banner truly is a success. Secondly the publisher will hope that the banner itself will register somewhere in the visitors sub-conscious so that it returns to them at a later date. Then they will go and check out the product and/or service by themselves.

However having a flash, creative and appealing banner will not do any good unless it is properly targeted. By targeting I mean on websites that are relevant to the product or service that you are promoting “ but getting hits from these sites as a result of your banners your pagerank will increase as well. Publishers aim to get their banner exposed in 3 ways: banner exchanging whereby you agree to display another companies banner on your site in exchange for them displaying yours on theirs; paying other sites to display your banner; and paying a banner organization network to display your banner on several different sites. All of these can be extremely effective in marketing your business.

However banner ads are but a small part of promoting your product or service, especially if you are an affiliate. While they serve a very good purpose and have evolved into one of the main ways in which companies can gain exposure there are many other methods as well that, when all combined together, can carve out a great career for yourself in affiliate marketing. It should be noted that the above information is not just confined to banner ads as the purpose can also be attributed to text ads as well.

This leads to the inevitable question of which is better, text or banner advertisements? It is questions like these that you need to answer to become a successful affiliate marketer but we don’t expect you to figure all this out on your own, help is at hand.  The Secret Art of Successful Affiliate Promotions’ can provide you with the knowledge to answer these sort of questions and decide which way of advertising is right for you.

ArticleBot V1.0 Now Available

articlebot V1.0

Smart marketers have been using articles as a core part of their marketing mix for years. It’s one of those high-payoff activities that is just plain crazy not to do. Submitting articles to article directories gives the marketer instant credibility, instant traffic from the article sites and instant links that boost search engine rankings.

The long-term residual benefits from improved search engine rankings and the articles being used by publishers on other sites. Every article written and submitted produces immediate results as well as additional profits for years to come.

The formula is a simple one – the more articles you write, and the more directories you submit them to, the more money you make. In simpler terms:
Articles x Directories = Money
So 10 articles submitted to 50 article directories would look like 10A x 50D = 500M. However, while article marketing is a simple process with a simple formula, there is one huge inherent problem…
It takes far longer to submit the articles

than it does to research and write them.
Submitting only one article to the 50 directories in our example formula would take several hours. Logging on to every directory and hand submitting every article is not only extremely slow, but extremely painful as well.
Article Marketing Is Supposed To Be About

Writing Articles And Marketing.

Not About Wasting Hours Upon Hours Of

Precious Time Submitting To Article Directories.
When faced with the dilemma of sacrificing so much time that could be spent doing more productive things (such as writing more articles), the article marketer must make one of the following choices:

  1. Submit to a short list of directories, which results in lower distribution.
  2. Submit to a long list of directories, which eats up many hours that could be spent writing more articles.
  3. Pay someone to submit your articles for you, which eats up your profits and leaves you unsure of how many your articles were really submitted to.

The ideal solution would be to automate the submission process. And people have tried, with shaky results at best.

Article submitters generally don’t submit to the best directories, because each of those directories has a different process that’s difficult to automate. And the list of directories that they do submit to is rarely if ever updated, which leaves your software essentially useless after only a few months. And who wants to pay $50 or $100 or more for a piece of software that will quickly become obsolete?
Introducing ArticleBot
ArticleBot is article marketing automation solution that works!

What sets ArticleBot apart from other automated services is quite simply the price, the automated directory updates and of course, the ease of use.

ArticleBot presently supports over 400 online article directories (including the best ones that the other submitters leave out) – and we work to add new ones all the time! Whenever we find a new one or we discover an existing one that is no longer available, ArticleBot automatically downloads and updates itself with the latest, most up-to-date list of directories available.

With ArticleBot, you get the best of both worlds. You load your article once and the software does the grunt work for you while freeing you up to write more articles. You increase your writing productivity while at the same time massively increasing your distribution.

Let’s look at our formula again – instead of hand-submitting your 10 articles to 50 directories, let’s say you were able to write 5 additional articles with your saved time, and used ArticleBot to submit those 15 articles to 400 sites.

Instead of 10A x 50D = 500M We now have 15A x 400D = 6000M That’s a 1200% increase!

ArticleBot Costs a Measly $24.95 (A Once Off Payment)

How to get High Value Links

Link popularity is a key element in the ranking algorithms for most search engines. The more quality web sites link to your site, the better your position will be in the search engines. There are a number of ways to improve the link popularity of your web site. Here a few strategies we use.

  • Cross-link your sites
    • One way to improve your link popularity is to add a links between your own websites to less popular sites you own. It is important that the sites are not duplicates of each other and that both sites are related to each other. For example, guitarwarehouse.com links to guitar-playing-techniques.com  and vice versa. Both sites are different but they offer related content.
  • Testimonials
    • Offer publishers or developers to provide a testimonial for their product. Most publishers will offer a free link from the testimonial
  • Awards for you and other sites
    • You can submit your website awards to sites. These sites typically give you a link from their site. Search Google for “awards directory”   Sites like “Top 100  ____________ Sites” usually are available.
  • Newsgroups and discussion forums
    • Post in newsgroups and discussion forums, add a signature file with a link to your web site. You can search for forums at Google. To find good discussion forums, just search Google for “forum directory ____________”.
  • Provide a link exchange at your site
    • Offer a link directory on your web site which links to quality web sites with a similar topic. Your visitors will appreciate the links and provide incentive for other sites to link to your site. Add a links page to your web site for webmasters to exchange links.
  • List your web site in the Yahoo directory
    • If you have a business web site should pay Yahoo for link in their directory US$299. The Yahoo directory is independent from Yahoo’s main search engine:
  • List your website in DMOZ
    • If your web site is listed in the popular directory ODP, then your web site will have a good base for the link popularity. Google starts crawling web sites with the web sites listed in the ODP directory. The cost of the service is free.
  • List your website at industry-specific directories.
    • A link at an industry specific directory is good for your website because it is a relevant link. Links from related pages are much better than links from unrelated pages.
  • Write articles for article directories
    • Write articles about the topics that your website visitors are interested in. Other websites will link back to your article. You can also send your articles to article directories link ezinearticles.com. They offer articles to other websites. Your article should contain a link to your website so that other sites who publish your article will automatically link to you.
