Today there are hundreds, even thousands of people online trying to make money.

From my own personal experience I would guess that between 98% to 99% of these people utilize Internet marketing as if it were a business plan.

Internet marketing is not a business plan, but rather a set of ideas, tools, and utilities that we use to market our businesses.

It’s my belief that so many Internet businesses are failing because of lack of direction.

Once again, Internet marketing is not a direction, but a set of tools that we utilize to market our businesses.

For those who want to start an Internet business, what you need is a direction!

If you love Internet marketing and all that comprises it, that’s great.

But in order to become truly successful with your online business, you need to have a direction, an idea, and a business plan.

If we take a look at all of the very successful Internet marketers, do we see them teaching Internet marketing?

Yes and no.

But, what we really see are successful people teaching only one aspect of Internet marketing at a time.

So rather than simply teaching how to Internet market, they are teaching one certain idea of Internet marketing.

It could be any aspect of Internet marketing, such as e-mail marketing, using private label rights properly, or using pay-per click marketing.

  I met Tom at a Dani Johnson convention a couple of years back, and I can say from personal experience that I’ve never met a better phone sponsor (sorry Mike Dillard).However, you’ll still find good and bad techniques mixed in with Tom’s coaching.

Who is Tom Challan?

Tom Challan is one of Dani Johnson’s favorite home business trainers. Part time, Tom Challan as surpassed almost all of the MLM gurus – sponsoring 500 people in one year (from cold leads, mind you). He owns and operates a lead and contact management company called Earn Pro Leads, as well as offering free weekly trainings called OJT (On the Job Training) in which you can listen to him dial prospects live.

So what does Tom teach?

Like many MLM gurus, Tom stays focused on the basics: prospecting, closing, and presenting using third party systems. Tom used to work with Dani Johnson with his prospecting and closing classes – charging 7 for each four week class. Tom Challan’s prospecting classes are made up mostly of live role playing mixed with one on one training. Dani Johnson is now personally offering the classes again, and Tom is more focused on building his lead company and doing his weekly OJT calls.

He has a simple, direct prospecting method that is comprised of basic open ended questions, listening, and following up with a simple script. Tom has a conversational recruiting approach – adapting his tonality and questions to the personality of the prospect.

Tom’s method is unique in the world of MLM. Prospecting and closing is the world of Tom Challan – as all menial tasks are outsourced to more capable individuals.

In one year, Tom Challan grew an MLM organization from start to 20,000 people while working only part time.

Is Tom Challan the real deal?

I actually got to have several personal conversations with Tom Challan in 2008 over several Dani Johnson events. I’ve actually never met someone who has studied with Tom Challan for a long time who has not been successful in their business.

Tom Challan is entirely unique, refreshing, and is a real leader in the MLM training universe.

There is one thing that would be greatly beneficial if you decide to use Tom Challan’s method:

Tom recommends doing a majority of your recruiting from purchased leads. While this is certainly effective, (as Tom Challan has proven), it can be frustrating and expensive, (if you’ve just called 1000 leads over a couple of weeks (or… months) and still haven’t recruited anyone.) Recruiting from purchased leads, regardless of lead quality takes a great deal of skill and training.

Learn how to generate leads online as well if you’re going to spend time learning Tom’s approach – it will pay off big time.

Creating your own leads is simple, inexpensive, and HIGHLY EFFECTIVE.

I wish I had more time to write my own blog post. I always considered myself a poor writer but an excellent communicator. Recently I accepted a position to be the CEO of a manufacturer of truck tarps and components for the transportation industry.  I think and work based on my business experience and research.  So in order to keep updating my blog and provide a service to my readers I search for news articles and things I find interesting  to share. This serves two purposes. It keeps me involved in studying business in general, and it fills in for when I do not have the time to whip off pearls of wisdom to share with my readers.

That said I’ve found that the post I have time to write and put some effort into have the best results. Based on my stats one of my authored posts gets 10 times more visits than a news article I post. So the moral of the story is simple: people are smart and they are primarily interested in original content.  As it should be!!

I will continue to post news worthy articles on my blog, but I am going to make an extra effort to write more of my own content. Even though I am very busy with the new job and I am a lousy writer, I want my content to be seen. I hope people understand that I am trying to inform and teach people how to be better business people. By doing this I am learning how to be a better businessman myself.
