What is Apple’s iCloud?

Apple’s cloud storage product called iCloud was announced at the world wide developers conference in June and it’s expected to roll out to users in the fall when the new, iOS5 is launched. iCloud is a virtual storage space where Apple users can store their music, photos, applications, calendars and documents in the cloud, and wirelessly push them to their devices synchronizing the content automatically.

You can think of the metaphor of iCloud being a hard drive in the sky, where you can synchronize devices wirelessly and have the data  available to you wherever you are, as long as you have Internet access. This service will be quite useful for apples 5.1 million iPhone users and 1.3 million Mac OS users.

Currently, users plug their devices in to their laptop or desktop computer with an eye USB connection to synchronize their photos, videos. Contact information applications etc., but now that can all be done over the air quickly and easily. So if you have an iPhone, an iPad, and laptop at home and a desktop at work you can now manage and synchronize all of your data so that everything is up to date across all of the different devices.

When iOS5 is launched in the fall, Apple users will update their iPhones and iPads to the new firmware and then the apps that they have already installed will become seamlessly integrated with iCloud. Users will be able to access their iTunes,  photos stream, documents, allowing them to view and edit the same version of a document regardless of which device they are looking at it on,  all the stored content on their iPhone and other devices such as apps e-books and audio will be stored and accessible whenever you need it. All of your contacts, calendar and mail will live in the cloud and you can access it and synchronize it automatically in real time with your devices.

With the popularity of mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, and iPod, people take their technology with them wherever they go allowing them to work and play and stay up to date with everything that is going on in their world in real time.  Cloud storage helps support that emerging digital nomad lifestyle where users can no longer stand being tethered to their laptop or desktop by a USB connection. In the same way that they can download the newest music or podcasts to their mobile devices, now they can sync all of their data automatically.

With iCloud, Apple has positioned the cloud as the central hub where users will store and sync their data while still maintaining local control of their data on their own devices.

On the Apple website they are saying that when you sign up for I cloud you’ll get 5GB of free storage for your content. There isn’t much detail about what the prices will be or how the billing structure will work. For those who need more than 5GB of storage.

How to Make Money by Giving Away Free eBooks

If you are a website owner you know that one of your daily challenges that never ends is getting enough targeted traffic to your website to generate sales for your products and services. In this article, we are going to take a look at how you can employ the strategy of giving away ebooks that will result in more traffic and more sales on your website.

Distributing free ebooks is a great way to attract attention and generate interest in your website.  When you write your ebook on a topic that interests your visitors, and is related to some of your paid products you are pre-selling your products by informing visitors and engaging them in your topic.  You will include links back to your site in the footer of the ebook, and also in the ‘about the author’ section in the back. After they have read your ebook and found value in it, most readers will follow the link back to your website to see what else you have to offer.

There are tons of websites out there where people go to find and download free ebooks from hundreds of different categories. These people arrive at these sites searching for content to fill a particular need that they have at the moment. Submitting your ebook to sites like this is a great way to gain exposure to new audiences.

But can you really make money giving stuff away for free? Yes you can. When you give someone something of value to them, there is a natural feeling of wanting to reciprocate. When they visit your site and look at what you have to offer, they have already had a preview of your work, and they may be eager for more. When you give your ebooks away, it’s like you are offering it as a sampler or a teaser for what they will find when they visit your website.

But just like so many other forms of content creation, the challenging part of the process is the distribution. Once you’ve got your little masterpiece written, now you must get it into the hands of people who will read it and hopefully act on what they learn.

Now you can actually use software tools to take a lot of the grunt work out of submitting your ebooks to the free ebook directories. Instead of searching for the various directories, and then submitting each title, link, keyword list, URL and description by hand, you simply enter this information into the software once and it submits your titles for you with the click of a button. You will have a silent assistant sitting on your computer desktop just waiting to send your ebook out and get it into the hands of those who are searching for it. How easy is that.

So, now that you know that writing and submitting free ebooks can help boost sales at your website, what are you waiting for to get started?

Writing and submitting free ebooks is just one way to increase traffic and sales to your website. For more tips and strategies about SEO and website research, visit, http://www.mcreasite.com/blog.

Classified Ad Submission Software Makes Ad Submissions Fast and Easy with the Click of a Button

Posting ads on free online classified advertising websites is an often overlooked, but powerful way to increase traffic to your website, and increase the number of high page rank backlinks to your site, which is good for your site’s SEO.

Classified ad sites are perfect for marketing your products and services because visitors frequent these sites when they are looking to purchase something. If you write a compelling ad, include a good picture and a keyword rich description, if your ad is placed in the appropriate category you should get lots of clicks and traffic from it.

Let’s take a quick look at the anatomy of a classified ad:

Title: The title is the headline for the ad. It must be compelling and draw the reader in or they will never see your ad. Spend some time on your ad headlines and test a few until you find one that works.

Description: This is the body of the ad–where you will share the relevant details of what you are offering. Describe your product or service using keyword rich descriptions. Take advantage of the amount of space you have available and make use of white space and bullet points where you can.

When you are putting your ads together, use a text editor such as Notepad that comes with most PCs. Word processing programs tend to add extra formatting that can cause problems when you are copying and pasting your ads.

Image: If the classified ads site allows you to use an image, find one that is relevant to the item being sold in the advertisement.  Test your images as much as you test your headlines. In some cases a good image can pull as much as a good headline.

Tips for using classified ad sites for marketing:

You can find ad posting software that will almost completely automate the submission of your ads to the various classified ad sites for you. You can submit your ads to several different websites and different profiles on the same website and add images. Some classified ad posting software products even include reporting tools so that you can track the effectiveness of your efforts.

  • Never stop testing your ads

Test the headlines, images, and descriptions

  • Keep studying about how to write effective ads and put your new skills to work

Here are a few free classified ad sites with an alexa ranking of under 150,000, which means that they actually get decent traffic:

  • Craigslist
  • Ebay classified ads
  • US Free ads
  • Adland Pro
  • Backpage
  • Epage

Between all of the good exposure your site will get from posting your ad on a free classified ad site, to all of the targeted, high page rank back links that posting on these sites will create for you, posting ads on classified sites is an excellent practice that has a high ROI. It is a time consuming task, but if you use ad posting software it goes more quickly, but you could also outsource this work very easily.

Copywriting Tips: How to Write Headlines Like a Pro

What is the secret to doing anything like a pro? Emulate someone who is a master at what they do and eventually your skills will improve with practice. Copywriting is a learned skill that takes years and practice to do effectively. If you want to excel as a copywriter you’ve got to learn from the best.

One of the secrets of copywriting is the fact that so many copywriters borrow from one another. Called, “swiping,” in the industry, many elements of good copywriting are borrowed from master copywriters. If you want to learn how to write effective headlines, you can study and learn from the best by starting your own collection of effective headlines to use as your own ‘swipe’ file.

But we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. Let’s take a step back and look at what a headline is and the purpose it serves in online copywriting.  The title or headline of any piece of writing is the most important part of that piece of writing because the headline is what grabs the reader’s attention, and if it’s effective holds the reader’s attention long enough to get them to read the first sentence or paragraph of the article or advertisement.  If the headline fails, then the rest of the copy never gets read.

An effective headline makes a promise about the copy that follows.  There are varying schools of thought when it comes to whether you should write the headline first or last. Writing the headline first helps to guide your thoughts and intentions as you write the piece of copy, but when you write it last you can make sure that the headline captures what the piece contains. Take the time to craft a good headline. Some writers come up with several different headlines and test them until they land on just the right one.

In his book, Hypnotic Writing: How to Seduce and Persuade Customers with Only Your Words, by Joe Vitale, he writes this about testing the effectiveness of a headline:

“Ask yourself: “Can this headline be used for any competitor’s ad, letter or website?” Imagine placing your ad on a competitor’s copy. Will the headline still work? If so, change yours.”

Whether or not you get too deep into copywriting, knowing how to write a compelling headline is a valuable skill. It’s worth reading through some copywriting text books such as the timeless classic, Scientific Advertising, to learn about the art and science of writing good headlines.

Start your own swipe file and save those headlines that have moved you to action, caught your eye and made you think, or inspired you to make a purchase.  Find ways to incorporate the effective elements into your own headlines.

Here are a few headline writing tips from Derek Franklin’s, No Fluff Guide to Copywriting:

  • Ask a question
  • Use a testimonial
  • Tie it to a current news item
  • Enter the conversation in their head
  • Tell a story

Keep writing and testing your headlines and before you know it you will start cranking out headlines like a pro.

Facebook Fan Page iFrame–How to Set Up a Fan Gateway and Squeeze Page

As an online marketer you know how popular Facebook fan pages have become. They are a great vehicle for connecting with your current customers and attracting new customers in a friendly, popular social media platform.

So often, visitors will land on a fan page, take a quick peek at the wall and then maybe click away never to return. The trick is to quickly engage visitors, get them to ‘Like’ your fan page and give you their email address so that you can stay in contact with them. In exchange, you offer something of value to them that is directly related to the fan page.

What you will be doing is creating a gateway page for your fan page, which contains a graphic image that encourages visitors to ‘Like’ your page, and then it tells them what special free gift they will receive when they do so. If they do not click the ‘Like’ button, they will not gain access to your premium freebie.

This is an effective way to both get more fans, but to also build your opt-in list. But the powerful thing about a Facebook fan page is that when a person clicks a like button, this shows up on their profile for their friends to see. Those friends who are curious could click on it thus initiating the ‘viral’ potential of Facebook.

Now let’s take a look at how easy it is to set up a fan page gateway using a free iframes app.

Go to your fan page and do a search for the app: Static HTML:iframe tabs

Click the ‘Like’ button, and then the ‘Go to App’ button

You will be asked if you want to add the app. If you have more than one fan page, select the page that you want to use the app on from the dropdown menu, and then click the ‘Add Static HTML: iframe tabs’ button

Now you are back on your fan page and you should see a new, gray ‘Welcome’ tab with a star in it. Click on that tab and you will be brought to a new page that contains two blank fields: In the top field you will insert a graphic image that encourages visitors to click the ‘Like’ button, and then tells them what they will get when they do. The second field reveals what they will see after they have liked your page and become a fan. This is where you will insert the opt-in code form your auto-responder program.

When you are done, click on the ‘Save and view tab’ button at the top of the page.

It’s really that simple. You might want to create a test fan page to try out your new iframe skills before you mess with your real fan page if it is already established and you have a fan base. A squeeze page is only the beginning of what you can do with the new iframes functionality with Facebook fan pages.
