8 Common Mistakes of Internet Marketers

If you wish to be a successful Internet marketer you will want to avoid these 8 mistakes:

1. Failure to prepare properly. Many Internet marketers are simply lazy and will not make the effort to prepare properly. Refrain from being overly anxious as if you’ll miss the boat if you do not market your website immediately. Use however many days it takes to setup all the appropriate advertising accounts and advertisements properly. This will make your administration more efficient and enable you to fly through your schedule tasks effortlessly each day. The net result is that your marketing efforts will be far more productive than if you were to take a haphazard approach.

2. Failure to implement an advertising strategy. You must have a plan with well defined goals if you wish to have positive marketing results. Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Do not try to recreate the wheel. Find out what successful people are doing and do the same. Regarding goals, write them down. When you achieve a goal mark it as “completed” and replace it with another. By doing this very simple step you can monitor your effectiveness and progress.

3. Failure to be professional. Some of the ads on the Internet are of embarrassingly poor quality. Be professional in your business approach and in the design of your ads. If you lack the ability to produce professional ads then find a resource that can. The quality of your website and advertisements is a reflection on you. Also, when dealing with customers always be courteous and professional even when they are not. If you are professional you will shine above the rest and earn customer confidence.

4. Failure to implement and adhere to a disciplined schedule. If you don’t have a realistic schedule in place then you will not be disciplined in marketing your ads properly. Consistency not volume is the key to success in marketing on the Internet. A schedule allows you to be consistent and also forces you to be disciplined. The Internet is not a “get rich quick” environment. It takes hours of dedicated and consistent work. You must be committed to putting in the time if you wish to have good marketing results.

5. Failure to utilize the right tools. There are some very innovative tools on the Internet to make the operation of your business more efficient. Many of them are very affordable and they will save you from having great frustration. Some marketers take the approach of being a “penny wise and a pound foolish.” In saving their pennies they are losing out on making the bigger dollars. Don’t ignore the many tools which are available.

6. Failure to build a downline. Your downline is the cornerstone of your business. A downline is your customer list or they can be referrals that join certain advetising programs through you serving as an affiliate. Verious advertising sites offer you some type of compensation for bringing them referrals. Don’t ignore the value of these referrals. Some Internet marketers are so anxious to advertise their product they fail to have an understanding of the bigger picture. A big downline can save you money in your advertising and enbable you to advertise more effectively. When soliciting always get the email address of your customer for future solicitations and sales.

7. Failure to track ads. Much time is wasted on unproductive sites and ads. If you’re not tracking them you will continually work in ignorance. You must have a measure of what is working and what is not. Is the program that you are participating in yielding the desired results? Are your ads well written and effective in drawing customers? You will never have the answers to these important questions unless you track your ads. You can waste a great deal of time on poor advertising programs and bad ads if you never track the results.

8. Failure to understand the advertising medium. You must understand how each type of advertising program works if you’re going to be an effective marketer. Whether you use pay-per-click advertising or membership driven sites like safelists, traffic exchanges and text ad exchanges all have their own personality. Not only do you need to understand the mechanics of each but also the general personality of their membership.

Affiliate Marketing 101 – What is Affiliate Marketing?

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make money on the Internet? Maybe you have been scammed by various get rich quick schemes, or paid survey sites. The truth is, there are only two viable money making business models that the average Joe can use to make money on the Internet. One is to create your own product to sell and the other is affiliate Marketing. Today, I am going to explain to you what affiliate marketing is, how it works, and why it works.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

To understand what affiliate marketing is, let us first break down the two fundamental concepts that make up its name. First, Affiliates or Affiliating. To affiliate with something is to partner yourself or make a connection between yourself and someone else. In this case, we are affiliating ourselves with companies that do business on the Internet. The second half is marketing. To market something is to publicize it, or to bring it into the eye of the public. In other words, to try to present the object of the marketing to the public in a favorable light.

So when we break down the two concepts, in essence, what we are doing is affiliating ourselves with a company that does business, and trying to publicize or bring exposure to their product or service. When you are an affiliate marketer, you make money by getting others to purchase the goods or services someone else offers. This means that you will never create and actual product to sell, or offer a specific service, as the advertising you will be doing is the actual service you specialize in.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

The inner workings of affiliate marketing on the Internet are fairly simple. Many companies who do business on the world wide web do not have the time or resources to properly market their products. Due to this fact, they will outsource that marketing to people like you and I. They offer a percentage of their profits from each sale that you refer or recommend to their website.

Let’s use Amazon as an example since they have the largest affiliate network. You would build a website promoting products that are currently sold on Amazon’s website. You get web traffic to your website where you recommend products on Amazon and you include a link to the product listing on Amazon’s site with a special code. Amazon will pay you anywhere from 4% up to about 10% on all sales they make from the traffic that contains that code. The only downside is, if they do not purchase anything at Amazon, you obviously make no money. Sound easy?

Why Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Affiliate Marketing works because companies like Amazon, Commission Junction, and Clickbank are willing to facilitate the process. Most small companies can’t afford to process all of the affiliate commissions and sales, making sure that everyone gets paid properly along the way. That is way larger companies like Clickbank have come into existence. These companies process all of the sales and affiliate payments for a small fee. This makes it much more secure and reliable for affiliates.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most viable online business models. There are thousands of companies who offer incentives for help in getting traffic and exposure for their products. You can make a substantial income using this business model with solid training in Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click, and other Affiliate Marketing tactics. I know several Internet Marketers who make upwards of $25,000 a month. The important take away is this, it IS possible to make money on the Internet, you just have to find the right business model, the right products to sell, and put in the time and effort to do so.

Network Marketing Internet Business

Are you interested in changing careers? Have you wondered how you could afford to be a full time stay at home parent? Do you want to set your own hours, career goals, and salary? A network marketing internet business, sometimes called MLM or multi level marketing, just might be the ideal path for you. With network marketing on the internet, you determine how much you work, what hours you devote to your network marketing business opportunity, how much money you will earn, and best of all, you can do it all right from the comfort of your own home!

What exactly is Network Marketing and how does it work? Network Marketing means that companies choose to sell products by using independent internet distributors rather than stocking their products in storefronts. They also allow these independent distributors to build and manage their own sales force to increase their earnings. Independent distributors do this by recruiting, motivating, supplying, and training others to sell the companyâ??s products on the internet. The distributors’ compensation comes from a percentage of their internet product sales. This percentage is sometimes fixed but more often is dependent on their total sales, with higher earnings percentages resulting from higher sales. Distributors who recruit and train other salespeople will also earn a percentage of the sales of their sales group. The independent representatives that each distributor signs up are often referred to as their â??downlineâ??.

A Network Marketing Internet Business works in much the same way as any offline Network Marketing Business does. In a nutshell, if you want your Network Marketing Internet Business to be a success, you must follow certain rules of thumb. These are to have an attractive, informative, and easy to use website; to be knowledgeable and excited about your Network Marketing Internet Business and the Network Marketing opportunity; and to always deliver prompt, friendly, and quality customer service.

Having an attractive, informative, and easy to use website is absolutely key to any Network Marketing Internet Business. You might have the best product in the world, but if your website is dull, slow, and boring, no one will find out about it! Your website should be interesting and attractive, without adding strange fonts that might be difficult to read or having too many pictures to slow the loading speed of your website. These simple things can make or break your Network Marketing Internet Business.

And you must always remember that just because your Network Marketing business is on the internet instead of offline, does not mean that you can neglect personal relationships! You must always be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about your product, and deliver great customer service promptly. This will keep the customers coming back!
