Keyword Research Tips & Tools to Boost Your AdSense Income

Successful AdSense publishers know that Keyword research is the foundation of building the most lucrative AdSense niche content sites. The right keywords will influence the volume of traffic that your site receives, as well as the value of the ads that Google serves up on your site. In this article, I want to share a few tips to help you make the most of your absence income by investing some time in keyword research.

1.  Use the right keyword research tools

There are many keyword research tools available online that can help you to select the best keywords for your AdSense website. I am only going to talk about keyword tools that I have actually used for my research.

The Google keyword research tool

This is a free tool that is absolutely indispensable. You can get lots of good profitable keywords from using just this tool combined with a bit of knowledge and skill. If you cannot afford to buy any of the premium keyword research tools, the Google keyword research tool will do just fine.

Micro Niche Finder

This is a premium or paid keyword research tool, and I use this tool almost every day for keyword research. It has some advanced features that are not available on the Google keyword research tool and I like the fact that it saves your searches.

2.  Create a list of primary and secondary keywords

After you have done your preliminary keyword research and you have come up with a nice list of keywords you want to then delve a bit deeper to figure out which will be the primary keywords that you will try to rank for and what will be the secondary keywords that will support the primary keywords. Using the above mentioned keyword research tools find the keywords that you will focus your content creation around.

To select your primary keywords do a search using a keyword tool to find three or four keywords that get at least 3000 searches per month. But do not have more than 25,000 competing pages in Google.

3.  Benefit from the research your competitors have already done

This tip might be a little ‘black hat’ or just a little sneaky, but it’s a great way to find out what keywords your competitors who are already at the top of the search results that you want to rank for are using. Take your primary keywords that you have chosen and type them into Google and pick the top two or three websites to investigate. Click on, ‘View,’ and then in the dropdown menu, click on ‘Source,’ and scan the site’s code until you see the keywords in the meta-tags.  Copy and paste the keyword list into a notepad document and analyze them.

These are just three tips that you can try to see if they help to refine your process for choosing the keywords that you will focus on for your ad sense content sites. Keyword research is not something that you do once and keep rolling. You must keep up with changes in your industry, and changes in customer behavior, seasons of the year, product life cycles and lots of other variables.

Do You Want a Free URL Rotator?

If you have a number of sites to promote, a free URL rotator is very helpful because you only require a single link to advertise, for example, 200 websites.  You just have to be careful when selecting the provider of this Free tool because there might be a limit to the number of URLs that you can include in the Free URL rotator.  This could be inconvenient when the number of websites that you are advertising surpasses this limit because you will have to find another provider and you will then have two or more rotators to think of.

In addition to the limit imposed on the number of URLs in a number of providers of free website rotators, another potential downside is that a banner ad is often displayed.  However, you may be able to do away with this ad if you agree to upgrade to a paid membership status, which could be sensible because of the advantages that are provided.  You may even be able to receive a commission from a number of Free URL rotator providers when you are able to convince another person to become a member of the paid service.

What are the different applications of free website rotators for various people, especially Internet marketers?  It would help us to first study the characteristics of a free URL rotator before looking at its applications.  The main role of a free website rotator is to show another web page whenever a surfer clicks on a specific link.  You submit a list of the URLs of these pages to the free URL rotator company and each time the link is clicked, either the next URL in the list is employed to load a web page or another URL is randomly chosen.  The common system is to have every click move down the pointer to the following URL in the list to ensure that every URL is given the same number of exposures to web surfers.

The most obvious application of a free URL rotator is the promotion of several sites with just one link.  Another potential use for the free website rotator is an advertising cooperative in which people can purchase shares and the rotator will be able to show all of their websites because for every click, the URL to be displayed is the next one in the list.  Another use of a free URL rotator is to let you easily transfer your promotional efforts to other websites if you have decided to discard a certain product.  You simply remove the URL for this particular product from the list.

Use Keywords in Your Titles

Yesterday I posted a new page at my main website www.mcreasite.com I then used the Digg tool to Digg my own page. Today I did a search with Google. See the results below:

Digg Proof

The title tags on my page was “Keyword Research Leads to Sales”. My pages does not rank in the top 10 for this phrase YET, but I am already receiving traffic since my Digg post does rank in the top 10. But remember select Your title for items that HAVE traffic but are not terribly competitive. I use Wordtracker to help me select my titles. You should consider trying their free tool.
