Teaching Traditional Businesses How to Market Online is a Huge Business
I am amazed how many times I talk to local companies and learn how much opportunity there is to teach these businesses how to maximize their online potential. I was talking to a company today that mails out 60,000 catalogs yearly and 4 mass mailings of brochures a year. The total cost to print, publish and mail is well over $250,000 per year. Most of this mailing ends up in the garbage can. Mass mail is dead for most businesses.
When a customer is interested in buying a product, businesses need to get information in their hands before they start thinking about something else. The solution is electronic marketing for regular every day businesses. This company is now going to make their catalog available on line, by the page or in total. They are also going to offer electronic distribution of brochures. We are creating an optin email list and a monthly newsletter, so they have immediate ability to contact their customers. Even better they are putting their message in front of their audience on regular bases which will increase brand visibility and value.
As I walked down the street I passed about 20 small to medium sized businesses, it occurred to me how much potential there is teaching these companies search engine optimization, email marketing, public relations and brand name development. I honestly think the world of “internet marketing” is starting to impact every business, in every niche, and on every street corner of the world. The potential is endless and the return on investment is huge for companies that move forward and the cost will be extinction for those that don’t.

Increase Website Traffic in One Day
Every once in awhile something comes along that seems too good to be true, and this is the case with social bookmarking sites. I have been able to generate FLOODs of traffic for every new website I create and I do it every time. For Free!
There are two tools you need to use to accomplish this. The first is the Stumbleupon tool bar. This tool allows you to quickly bookmark your site at Stumbleupon.com and you’ll be shocked how much traffic you will get day one. This initial traffic needs to be leveraged as you build your long term traffic by using the second tool which is digg.com. Digg can help you get your keywords ranking within a day. The trick to making this work for your website is doing keyword research before you make a blog post or create a new page. A tool like wordtracker will help you select high traffic long tail keywords. These are the low hanging fruit that gets quality traffic that turns into sales. Use these keywords as the title of your pages or blog post and then use Digg to get your post indexed and ranking faster than you ever thought possible. Even if you have a new site with few backlinks.
Learning how to use StumbleUpon and Digg will generate a torrent of free website traffic overnight. These tools are a must for everyone. Does this really work….well you are reading this post!
