  1. Thanks for your video/message. It came at a good time for me because I have been having a big unsubscribe effort after being totally overcome with too many emails. You have been giving me a great deal of good information which I appreciate and hope to continue hearing from you.

  2. I appreciate your free information very much. Linking to information that stays up on the web is also a very good idea. Many marketers now have free training available so that the sheer volumn gets overwhelming. I have found that by the time I get through the e-mails, I have no time left for doing my business. Therefore, now I limit the time allowed for e-mails and just flag some for later viewing. Those marketers who say you have X number of hours to view and it’s coming down are annoying. It may get some readers to take action and buy. Others of us will just shrug and delete. Videos may be the “in thing”, but it is also helpful to embed it in a written version. I can read faster than you can talk. :-)

  3. Hi Bill,

Thanks for the refreshing twist on email marketing. It seems like the more perceptive marketers are realizing that all the hype and commotion they usually fill their subscribers inboxes with is getting ‘old’ fast.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge so generously and I look forward to working with you in the future.

    Cheers

  4. This is the right track. I think everyone is fed up with all the emails that just sell. I, for one, begin to question ‘who am I dealing with?’ it’s all so anonymous. I think the basic question is ‘who can I trust?’ We all need to make a living, but who is it that cares about ME and not just my money? Who is going to follow through?

And you’re right, I too always open Frank Kerns’ mail. I can’t afford most of his products BUT I do always learn something from him and I trust him to not only make his living but to protect my living as well. THAT is what’s needed on the net today. There are a few others I feel that way about, like Russell Brunson for one. Like Evangeline above, I too have decided to scale back my emails and who I scale back to is going to depend a lot on what I’ve said here.

Good going, Bill. I promise not to cut you out!!!

  5. Right on, Bill!!

  6. Hi Bill,
It is good to hear from you again.
I know your main area of marketing expertise is Traffic Generation
but do you have a product where you teach LIST BUILDING?
    Dusty

  7. Funny you should mention that… check back in March

  8. so true, at one point i even unsubcribe anyone that only pushes products and never added any value

  9. Thanks for the video. I, for one open few emails. I\’m tired of everyone just vying for my money or telling me I\"must have this\" or I\’ll be a failure.

I hope that other Marketers get the message too. Great job, Bill!

    Let\’s get the word out!

  10. Bill :) Wow I have great admiration and respect for someone as yourself. I have only been attempting to begin an internet Marketing Career. This sir is my desire, Burning Desire, my hope dreams and longing. I have purchased package after package only those things I feel will aid in my Business Venture. Building a website, traffic generator, autoresponder, you know things like this. $229.21 invested thus far. Tried not to go crazy. As you say there are countless agents out there that care nothing about the newbie and only crave that amount they can get offering no further aid. I have the will to drive on though trudging through quicksand by laying flat and easing to the edge of fulfillment. I regress. Your too cool. Thank you for being one that stands out as a rose amoungst the weeds. Some day would like to meet. Until then Tony

  11. I’ve been on many lists for years and had to unsubscribe from a few marketer’s lists because I got sick and tired of the sell, sell, sell mentality. That’s quite annoying. It’s as if they don’t care about their list members. It’s just all about making a quick buck from their list. Today, I don’t subscribe to very few lists. I follow just a few marketers like you Mr. Mcrea. I am not here to “Kiss a#%.” I am just stating the facts. I just want to say that you certainly bring value and I appreciate it. Keep doing what you’re doing.

  12. Thanks Bill, I echo what has been written in the comments to date. Also, I very
much appreciate you providing so many valuable freebies and for now sharing your thoughts. You are right on the ball with this. I’m receiving far too many cross ads and spend too much valuable ‘business’ time deleting them. All these emails/video’s/presentations simply create information overload and fog up the brain cells, preventing productive activity.

I like your direct, honest, simplistic and no hype approach.

The one area that really annoys me is that the Guru’s all seem to have a different perception of what is a newbie. Most ads say the product in question is appropriate for experienced people and newbies alike but it soon becomes evident to a newbie, that considerable familiarity with definitions and techniques is required thereby creating a brick wall. The same often applies to plugins.

Tonight I will ‘sanitize’ my email subscription list – but yours will happily remain.

    Regards

    David

  13. I’ve only been on your list for a short time now and do appreciate how you handle emails. Your approah is something to emulate however when building a list it’s almost necessary to do ad swaps. This allows building your list faster. I’ve struggled with this for awhile now as I don’t want to send to many “here’s another freebie from my good buddy” emails but have not worked out a way to build my list as fast. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  14. Yep that is a big dilemma. Adswaps are an important part of list building. Try to limit it to twice a week. Once you get a certain size you can stop.

  15. Awe Bill! You’re good looking enough… Glad you are going to bring the juice, rather than be just another spammer. You got da skills!

  16. Bill, the fact is you’re a mature marketer with hands on experience, the question is why didn’t you just stick to your guns and do list cultivation in the first place without blasting ads in a crazy train fashion?

  17. I have been going through the emails I receive from marketers lately and unsubscribing from many of them. The ones that aren’t getting unsubscribed are those that have given me valuable information. Especially those that give value in the email itself.

Just so you know, I didn’t watch all of your video. As Kathleen mentions above, I can read much faster than you can talk. Video and mp3 seem to be all the rage, and they do have their place, but I want something I can skim quickly and go back easily if something catches my attention.

Plus videos use much more bandwidth, and when you’re charged by the GB by your ISP (and I don’t have a lot of choice being in a rural area) it is frustrating that people use it so much. So please give us a choice, or at least a bullet list of what the video covers so we know if we need to bother watching it.

Thanks. I’ll be watching to see what your future emails hold.

  18. Hi Bill, I get around a hundred emails a day, and yet I find that I open yours without exception. So you must be doing something right. Maybe that explains why I’m one of your students!

  19. Thanks for telling things as they are, Bill! Like I always tell people who will listen, internet marketing is just marketing done on the internet. The principles of good marketing haven’t really changed over the millenia – only the tools and methodologies.

To me, marketing has always been about providing value, whether it’s free information or a paid product that over-delivers for the price. As long as you focus on the needs and desires of the people in your target market, you’re on the right track.

With regard to email marketing, the above holds especially true. I evaluate each and every ad swap opportunity I’m presented with, asking myself “Will this product or service REALLY be of benefit to my subscribers?” If my own answer is “no,” I decline the swap.

I have one email account that I use to subscribe at giveaways, which receives upwards of 150 emails per day. I use that account to monitor general trends, and to identify the “me too” and “plastic” marketers. I obviously don’t read each and every email I receive at that account, but I have gleaned a few gems for my “swipe file.”

I’d like to invite you to appear as a guest on our internet talk show as a featured guest. The radio show is linked to my name, and you should have my email address from the form to post this comment – if you’d like to appear on the show. (At last count we have 65,000 listeners and growing)

Thanks Bill, and keep the good stuff coming! You’re definitely on my “keeper list!”

  21. I like the way you talk to us as people and not just
a money source like the other guru guys.
I haven’t joined anything because I do not have
what I need as a marketer to begin, like an AR, Host,
Domain and money to stay in a program when I do join.

I do not delete your emails, I save them in a folder.

  22. Hi Bill,
Enjoyed your email. You mentioned that you
have many teaching webinars. It would really
be nice to get these say once a week so us
newbies can download, listen and learn from you.
I have been getting up to 3 emails each day and
have not allways listen to them. If you put in
the subject line that you are send out a teaching
webinar, I know many of your people will open
the email and listen plus learn from you.
    Thanks,
    Rita Griebel

  23. Hi, Bill, thanks for these hints, totally right. Working out all these things is a pretty work, but rewarding. People can differentiate between real care and careless promotion. Making things cleverly means more personal, more deliberated, caring about the needs and problems of others. I am a fun of You, Bill, and Your customer. It is not an accident. You are giving an awful value in Your products. Thanks for it. Good luck!

  24. I am looking forward to beginning my list. I know that you can help me out so I thank you for your help.

  25. Wow, being yourself really rung out at me Bill and I thank you for that.
I have long understood that we are individuals and in the respect of that is the power of influence and cash flow.
I want to be successful at helping others and email lists represent to me a real audiance of teachable people.
I can say that because you are you I joined CCC and search it for how to put me together in an attractive way to help all who open my emails to glean a greater understanding to building their own business and growing their own income in the comfort of their homes.
Since you have opened the door to Never Fail List Building I have wanted to find how I can use and promote on my List Builder Trainer web site.
I am encouraged from your helping me grow and learn how to teach others the same.
    Again, thanks.

  26. Hi Bill,
I always like listening to you voice and all the info you give. It’s true about all the emails that come through each day, I don’t have time to implement the programs I’ve bought because I spend all my time reading and deleting and my day is gone before I know it. I shan’t be deleting you emails though.

  27. Important points: Great for Community of Practice and Best Practices.

  28. I need to watch this again. I’ve forgotten everything already.
Also I need some support for some other Bill McRea products I’ve bought. How can I contact support?
