Do Traffic Exchanges Really
Work?
Like a lot of things in internet marketing Traffic
Exchanges are misunderstood. You can get some very
effective traffic from these services if you know what you are
trying to accomplish.
First do not use any traffic
exchange to promote an Adsense site... you will lose your
Adsense account with Google. Not Good!
Second they do not work well if you have a long message or
sales letter. On average the reader is looking at your page for
about 20 seconds. You have to get their attention and convince
them to sign up for your autoresponder series in that 20
seconds.
To do this effectively you will need a Splash optin form. A
splash optin is very graphical and
promotes "hope" or "fantasy" of financial freedom or the good
life to get people to sign up for your email list. It's
with the email list you sell them your product.
Here are a few of examples of good and bad uses of a
Traffic
Exchange:
BAD an attorney advertising their services. The
audience is people looking for business opportunities... not
lawyers:

BAD too wordy. No one will read the whole thing.
This site will generate very little revenue and no
leads

BAD this will not get anyone's
attention

GOOD this will work. It's
graphical, delivers a quick message and the
optin form is easy to find:

And the more splashy the message the more success you will
have generating optin's. I am illustrating what works, I
personally do not like flashy over hyped splash optin forms.
That said, they do work,
I use Traffic
Exchanges to generate traffic for giveaway events and a few
affiliate programs. They are a tool, but if you are trying to
sell something other than a business opportunity they are not
that effective.
My favorite traffic exchange is Hit
Pulse. Over the past year I have generated over 1,000
optins from their service.

I
highly recommend their service.
